Great Scott Design Co: February 2013

My name is Scott Wells. I am an artist, designer and illustrator. I am a Denver native and graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. From an early age with scribbles on paper, I have always loved drawing and creating art. This interest fueled my desire to become a graphic designer. Since graduation I have worked as a freelance designer and illustrator for clients in the Denver area. My design philosophy is to create works that are simple, direct and visually appealing. My illustrations and designs are created to bring a smile to the lips of the viewer whether it is a whimsical label on a bottle of wine or an illustration of a 1960’s cocktail party reflecting the culture of the time. A strong influence on my design and illustration style is the mid-century modern period. Using the stylistic conventions of the time I achieve a mid-century modern look through color pallet and typography selection.
